That is Elly Chat—a voice-powered, child-friendly app that brings Elly the Emu to life as a warm and encouraging talking companion for young children.

Created primarily for children aged two to six, Elly Chat allows children to speak naturally with Elly and hear her respond in a sweet, young Australian voice. There is no complicated navigation and no typing. With one simple button, a child can begin a conversation, ask a question, explore an idea or join Elly on a gentle learning adventure.

Elly can tell stories, encourage imaginative play, practise early communication skills and help children talk about their thoughts and feelings. She can also share positive affirmations, celebrate effort and reassure children when something feels new or uncertain.

Elly’s role is always clear: she is a fictional learning companion created to encourage healthy development, never a substitute for human care or connection.
